Too Cool For School

You know you're getting too old when you go to a bar or pub and leave because it's too loud. Even if they are playing Robert Palmer and other 80's/90's music one is way too familiar with. Which is exactly what happened to us the other night (that or the freaky Harry Potter fans scared us off). Anyway so the girls and I are out on the town (check out the pics here) and decide to go to what is labeled a rather "cool" club in NY. We rock up to 2 rather long queues and a number of people milling in the street. I've been of the fundamental belief for some time now that anywhere I have to queue to get in is probably way too cool for me. That said it was with much pleasure that we skipped the line and went pretty much straight in (hey who doesn't like to feel somewhat important).

So feeling uber-cool we walk in only to find ourselves in a room full of what appeared to be 20/21yo trust fund kids. Anyway snaps to my friends who always seem to know how to make the most of a .... well in this case sad.... situation. A drink or 2 and a bit of a boogie (oh and the entertainment created when a 21yo uni student hit on me) made the night far from boring. Have to say given the debacle called my dating life I actually considered it for a millisecond ..... but she was only 21 and that's almost illegal at my age.

The 30's might be the new 20's but I think it's time for me to admit..... I'm just not a kid anymore.... and I aint in kansas either I guess.
